I'd have thought the short sales released overnight by the ASX is for all trades, including in the closing auction. So to me it seems inaccurate to compare all of the short sales with only some of the day's trading activity. To each their own here, but the point remains: short interest is below 1%, blaming shorts for the share price performance is most definitely barking up the wrong tree. The stock is liquid enough for those positions to be exited without the share price really being impacted at all. Not suggesting this is your aim, but trying to draw people into buying IGO on the back of some short squeeze narrative is definitely bad apples. FWIW get yourself a hold of the Tim Hoff Canaccord report from 20 March (PT: sell, $5.50 when SP was $7.58), it really lays out the challenges facing the company very clearly.
