A couple of barrels a day is nothing to worry about. They've got hundreds of metres of open hole there but only losing a few hundred litres a day into it.

I've been asking around and I've found out that plenty of people knew about this incident within an hour of it happening. Not surprising because each company involved (CTP and all the contractors - Century, Weatherford etc) would have sent the message up the chain as they are expected to do.

I would expect nothing less - HSE culture is that that is the very first thing you do after securing the area and making sure everyone's okay. So even if CTP didn't know exact details, they definitely were aware of a major drilling incident on Sunday and should have gone into a halt at the very least.
