Well I had a very uncomfortable 3 hours today.
Believing the record date to have been yesterday I
decided to sell a lot of my SER holding, quickly sold 260k with a further 700k to go when I read the Ann of 23 March which stated "24 april Demerger record date for determining entitlements". Instant freakout by yours truly - immediately cancelled all sell orders and believing I'd lost 260k Tarcoola shares. I called SER straight away to find out which was the real record date, but all staff were in a meeting until about 2.
But what a good company SER is, as soon as that meeting finished Darren from SER phoned me and explained that I was OK that the 24th of april is the day that they will count all holders who held SER stock prior to the start of business on 18 April - phew.

Whilst I had him on the phone i just could'nt resist asking him how is the MEGA deal going. He said he could'nt provide me with any detail but I understood SER (and/or Tarcoola) board members are all huddled together over in canada, with MEGA this week. I also know Chris Darby (MEGA Aust. CEO) arrived there Monday to help "get things over the line". Darren also added that with such a significant number of powerbrokers from all the companies involved, in Canada this week, that he believes an announcement to shareholders will be within days.
Lets hope so, I need to get a life, post SER.
