Testing on plates was performed a looooong time ago. But they were coated with M&G in-house. This isn't practical for high-throughput use, and pre-activated microtitre plates are still not available as a product for sale online. This is really disappointing. Other products/kits we would use simply aren't available yet, but it's good to see some are in the pipeline for release.

Our primary use is now slides. The instruments that take the slides are uncommon and this is not something that can be rolled out, but other organisations are doing the same as us. The importance of using the glue on this system is that the information acquired from observing real-time binding to the sticky stuff confirms the technology and gives us an idea of how to best apply it to other uses, such as plates when/if they are used on a wider scale.
