If CNX can get some form of compensation for the banning of UCG in Qld, anything is possible for CNX. I'm not entirely sure what the legalities are for the agreement (verbal agreement) between CNX and Qld government, but one could speculate that a unilateral contract maybe existed; there was detrimental reliance by CNX; or maybe mispresentation by the Qld. I am only reading through CNX reports and trying to come to some positive outcome for CNX, without the particulars. Either way, CNX has said it has spent $150m on research on the expectation that if it passed all required laws/regs it would be granted permission, that has now not occurred due to this new legislation being enacted. I am no legal scholar, but it is either that CNX is not telling us the full story or we have a solid case against Qld gov, or the board of CNX for compo...
