For anyone interested, here is a review on lateral flow that i feel explains the relevance and the need for our technology by BBI/Alere. Good article, and the "evolving future performance in POC diagnostics" section is worth a quick read.

Here is a statement that i feel sums up the worth of our technology to BBI. "With gold, it is generally not possible to orient the binding of antibodies or attach them covalently"

These two issues mentioned (orientation and attachment) are critical when working with highly sensitive gold nanoparticle lateral flow assays. Our tech clearly overcome both these obstacles with ease and simplicity. IMO it's clear as day why BBI/Alere is investing the $ and research into our tech.

I'm also interested in BBI or someone else using our tech in lateral flow by conjugating gold nanoshells to magnetic nanoparticles, as current construction methods of these particles appear to be riddled with complexity.
