A study demonstrated that only DHA was rapidly effectiveagainst all stages of the parasite life cycle and completely inhibited theparasite growth within the shortest exposure time when compared to all otherartemisinin drugs. It is also felt by many clinicians that AS administeredintravenously is the most effective for treatment of severe malaria due to thehigh DHA levels [3].
