I've been told that the lease application laws in the NT are a bit different to WA, in that any applications made on the same day are treated equally, and therefore not strictly first come best dressed.
I heard that Reflective held off till late in the day to lodge their lease application, so there was no time for GEMCO to also lodge applications for the leases Reflective were after....but, caught with their pants down, GEMCO lodged applications on surrounding leases the very next day.
Got to me about 10th hand, so the story might have been embellished along the way. Still, just luv the supposed skullduggery!
