A few key features of all complex systems:

    1. Consist of multiple elements exhibiting emergent behaviour (spontaneous order)
    2. Element interactions are non-linear and dynamic, resulting in unpredictable transitions (ie tipping points)
    3. Support multiple feedback loops (self organization)
    4. Are adaptive in process (ie evolutionary through variety)
    5. The behavior of the system as a whole cannot be predicted from an inspection of its components.

You guys can argue all you like about who is right and wrong, but by virtue of the fact that climate is a complex system, it will innately contain evidence that supports conflicting hypotheses about itself.

The only thing that is wrong is the presumption that any single piece of data can be interpreted in isolation to mean anything in particular.

Ruling out CO2 would be a breach of the 2nd characteristic above, but confirming it is the main driver would equally be a breach of the 5th characteristic.

Agreeing that we are all only talking about opinions would make this debate more purposeful and less academic.

But i guess nobody is that fussed about navigating their way through this complexity, everyone just wants to be "right", lol.
