This is just an idea for the reason for the " plume of mist" rising from the deck of the OP. Here we go, one worker is looking at Hotcopper at this thread and has made it known to fellow workers, and they are rolling around on the deck with laughter causing dust to rise, so its probably not the exhaust of a diesel generator only workers having a laugh.
