Honda is following Tesla by selling direct to the public with a non-haggle price like buying a TV online. This relegates the dealer role to delivering the vehicle, selling a few accessories and providing service & parts later.This one price fits all including fleet & government sales
It is not clear how F&I which is a significant earner for the dealer will be handled.
IMO, this clears the decks for the Chinese to set up quickly and cheaply in Aus without the cumbersome networks of Aussie dealers.
This new distribution system put the national distributer in charge of price which can be rapidly tweaked to get the required volume/market share.
