Sales of new motor vehicles in Australia were higher in August according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
According to the figures, new cars sales rose 0.8 per cent in the month to 94,396.
The figure compares to an initially reported 93,797 new vehicle sales in July, seasonally adjusted.
Total sales are now a seasonally adjusted 0.2 per cent higher than in the corresponding period last year.
