Years ago dentists used to rip teeth out without question.......big hole, chipped, dead nerve, what-ever.....out it came, until they realised that they were doing themselves out of a job!
Removing repairable teeth was shooting themselves in the pocket, so to speak.. So no matter how bad a tooth is we will now try and keep it. Now we all know that dentists are honourable professional people (to a point it would seem)
Likewise methinks that the drawback for Cardicel may be that it does not calcify and doesn't require replacement like the others.
Oh no you say cardiac surgeons wouldn't do that! Don't bet on it!
