New Cash (less) Player Restrictions

I've just been informed by The Star that they are rolling out new player restrictions in September/October.

From this date, all players must be registered to play any pokies or table games. There will be a maximum limit of $1000 cash buy in per day for all existing cardholders unless they reregister with additional financial information... no doubt to pass onto AUSTRAC and the ATO.

These restrictions are a compromise to banning all cash completely, but it will put off the occasional player/visitor who wants to have a small flutter and put an end to all those tax avoiders once and for all. They will go back to laundering in the clubs, but these restrictions are likely to be rolled out into the clubs eventually.

These restrictions are definitely going to further impact gaming revenue....
