Bluegoose, you're forgetting the close to $15 million (25 million shares and rights) Yeager gets in the first year.

When his appointment was announced those shares were worth just over $10 million. So we're all winners and smiling today :D

He will earn an annual base salary of $1.3 million and an annual retirement contribution of $500,000, the company said Monday. Yeager will receive 15 million Maverick shares and 10 million performance rights or same in cash if shareholders kick up a stink. The value of the stock and rights just jumped from $10.6 to $12.1 million. That’s roughly twice Yeager’s 2011 package at BHP. "
