Makes me sad to read this: that Minchin might be giving encouraging words ADM to try again.
GNC should be grabbing all opportunities to prosper, not flogging itself to some offshore operator to grab all the profit.
If they need capital to improve things, why not capital raise or joint venture. Selling out to me indicates a lack of 'management inspiration' or 'intestinal fortitude'
And if GNC is sold, what do the Aust shareholders do with the cash in their pockets? --- if the article in Tuesday's Age regarding Treasury analysis of where the money from the mining boom went is any indication, we Australians "blew the wealth" on what amounts to domestic consumption / "a big pleasure party" and have little to show for it in the longterm.
