Has any one on this forum been involved in an underground gold...

Has any one on this forum been involved in an underground gold mine start up in Brazil . Humphry is right to question the need for 190 persons at this mine . We were probably doing 3 x 8 hour shifts when the plant was operational for those couple of months putting through 7 thou tonnes of waste materiel which may account for lets say 50 persons/ but I really don't know/ Either we get the answer from the coy or someone with mining experience may enlighten us . A lot of money has been spent and one can't help feeling that 190 people working like the artisans of old may have gotten more gold and maybe us more profitable than all the machinations our BOD did . Maybe manpower from the locals with the help of a few modern machines to dig the ore out; is the answer to our gold production problems. ie... doing it the old fashioned way.
