Forgot to mention: What Steris was selling would have required making sales through the purchasing department of the hospitals and so on mostly. However now it is the medical specialists who need to be convinced. I think we will see a period of needing to get up to speed with the different marketing approaches, before he can become effective in the role. I suspect we needed a bit more of a geek type. Anyway - we will soon see how he goes, and I imagine the decision process was quite detailed.
Actually on further reflection: I'm very surprised that they have brought somebody in that cannot be wheeled into a meeting with a head oncologist or radiologist - he has no science or engineering or Physics in his qualifications that I can see. He will be very dependent on other experts within SRX, and will be closest to the CFO I suspect.
Anyway - last I will say about this. We will just have to see how he goes, and give him a chance. Welcome to Sirtex Andrew if you are reading!
