Consolidation, in my experience, is actually a negative and largely a waste of time. At the least it reduces liquidity.

Companies that feel the need to consolidate only need to do so because generally management at some stage has usually driven the share price too low with their sub-par performance.

Consolidation does not change the underlying factors or sentiment.
