Looks like it was just a rebalance on the ASX. Lots of stocks had large late trades. Although LNC was not directly involved it was probably just caught up with the general moving of funds.

The changes from the September 2013 quarterly rebalance will take effect after the close of trade on September 20. The data for the September 2013 quarterly rebalance of the S&P/ASX Indices is in, with little change for the blue chips, but a big rotation in the broader indexes.
The changes will take effect after the close of trade on September 20.
As per usual there was no change in the S&P/ASX 20, S&P/ASX 50 of the S&P/ASX All Australian 50. All the movement is in the broader indexes, as outlined below.
S&P/ASX 100 Index
Coming in to the S&P/ASX 100 Index are Navitas Limited (ASX: NVT) and Perpetual Limited (ASX: PPT), while heading out is Atlas Iron (ASX: AGO), Lynas Corporation (ASX: LYC) and News Corporation (ASX: NWS).
S&P/ASX 200 Index
As usual there more movement in the broader S&P/ASX 200 Index, with notable arrivals including Cromwell Property Group (ASX: CMW), Forge Group (ASX: FGE), STW Communications Group (ASX: SGN) and Sky Network Television (ASX: SKT).
Revolving out of the index are Billabong International (ASX: BBG), Discovery Metals (ASX: DMY), Emeco Holdings (ASX: EHL), FKP Property Group (ASX: FKP) and Mineral Deposits (ASX: MDL).
S&P/ASX All Australian 200 Index
Movement in the S&P/ASX All Australian 200 Index has new entrants of Ainsworth Game Technology (ASX: AGI), Credit Corp Group (ASX: CCP), Cromwell Property Group (ASX: CMW) and Virtus Health (ASX: VRT).
