I now live in Beijing. There are two local english newspapers and not a day goes by when either mining deaths or rescues are reported.

I imagine the potential for safety orientated equipment is huge.

The Aus chamber of commerce have drinks here every Friday night. I am there this Friday so will see what I can find out about the conference and who is doing what. Alot of the expat mining community also frequent a couple of other little haunts I frequent.

The feedback I have received to date is mixed. Some companies seem to do really well whilst others (Arrow energy is one that comes to mind)struggle to get any traction here.

The government still continues to attempt to close down the illegal mines which operate just about everywhere and are responsible for many of the casualties although it sounds like it is a losing battle. They just keep digging.

Anyways there must be someone from Indrustrea in the expat community who likes a beer. I will see what I can find.
