The chart has a few mistakes and maybe I should have not posted it just like that..
a) It covers the GFC. Which was a very volatile period. But unfortunately I only have limited data available. So I think this is a big minus.
b) It probably should be adjusted for price. But my guess is it might look worse.
c) Can the average range really have any predictive attributes? .... not sure, I have yet to see evidence for that. But I think a low range might indicate indecision in the market and the range might increase once the herd knows which way it wants to go.
