Kimberley Diamond Company NL (Kimberley) (ASX : KIM) is pleased to
announce the discovery of a vertically dipping 2 metre wide lamproite fissure
that extends westwards from the current mining pit at Ellendale Pipe 9
West. The fissure, named Kimberley 36, breaches the western sandstone
vent wall in the current Ellendale 9 pit and strikes westwards some 290
metres towards Kimberley Pipes 28, 34 and 35, previously announced.
Kimberley 33 (announced 6 August 2004) has been bulked sampled and its
results will be announced as soon as they are available.
Kimberley has discovered 18 new lamproite occurrences since
commencing mining operations at Ellendale in June 2002.
Kimberley 36 was discovered by geological mapping.
Many more subtle magnetic anomalies exist within the 124 square kilometre
mining lease. An anthill geochemical indicator programme is currently in
progress and an airborne Tempest EM geophysical survey, in conjunction
with Blina Diamonds NL, will commence next week, which is expected to
create more target drill sites once all the data is available towards the end of
October 2004.
Kimberley has an ongoing development programme which has delivered
two significant mineralised pipes, Kimberley 28 and 34 recently. Kimberley
36 will be bulk sampled shortly.
