2day's update should get the interest back in MEO over the nxt 2 weeks. I wish PBR could do a flow test, signs look allright as we go deeper.
Time to take a deep breath & think abt safety from now on. It's good to see PBR call for 'drinks' (i.e, stop drilling, run casing, b4 drilling ahead).
Sequence of events later this week:
- Last casing point (13"): 1860m - Current Depth (12.25") : 2936m (or 9632 feet) - Open Hole section: 1076m (~80-87 joints of 9" casing) - Drill 8.5" section
So next up, they should have pulled out the pipes of the hole,
- Commence running 80-87 odd joints of casing - Pump cement - Pressure test BOP (thank god the BOP works on this high pressure gas zone) - Drill out cement & shoe into the 8.5" section - Commence drilling to 3200m (or Calypso top) - Conduct routine flowchk's for any abnormal high gas readings - Proceed with coring in the Calypso
IMHO they should drill the next part of A#1, i.e 8.5" dia hole with a new mud weight, just 2b safe.
For those keen on formation names, here's the lithostratigraphy of the NWS frm the WADMP website.
