Clifton Hefner

Clif joined Blue Energy as Exploration & Production Manager in May 2010.

Most recently, Clif comes to Blue from his roles as a Consultant in the oil, gas, & CSG industry, Adjunct Professor with Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in their Project Management Academy, and Director of Stanwell Corporation Limited. In the oil, gas & CSG industry, he has 32 years of broad engineering and management experience.

Clif has a very diverse background. He originated from a family rice and cattle farm in Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas, Austin with BS in Petroleum Engineering with Highest Honours. The first 24 years of his working career were with Chevron Corporation performing work that included petroleum engineering, economic modelling and assessment, business planning, project management, and operations management. Early in his career, he became a member of Chevrons international workforce and has lived and worked in 9 countries. He first came to Australia in 1987.

Clif permanently relocated to Brisbane in 2002, and managed Australian and Indonesian assets for El Paso Production Company. In 2005, he joined Sunshine Gas Limited and began working within Queenslands conventional gas and CSG industry. In addition, he has provided project management consultation to the agricultural and sugar cane industries, as well as taught executive courses worldwide for QUT. At the time of its corporate buy-out, Clif served as Sunshines Operations and Project Manager, and was progressing its Lacerta CSG Development opportunity in FEED.
