from experience, i've found a tenuous correlation between level of remuneration and level/quality of service/duty-of-care/diligence/conscientiousness/intelligence/common sense. it all boils down to character/upbringing/environmental factors.
at least here in Oz, people generally do their best to "help" although standards seem to have been slipping ever so slowly over the years.
try getting assistance/information in asia and you're more like to get the run-around because the left-hand doesnt know what the right-hand is doing or you'd just get a snide proclamation that what you ask is "secret." DOH! customer service there is very often an alien concept.
wonder what it's like in the middle-east/latin america/african continent.
