I agree with everything you've stated but you're wasting your time with Troopy.
Troopy is the only person I have actually placed on ignore as he is so adamantly fixated on the specific building codes for the AUS region he operates in (South-East Coast if my memory serves me correctly). He doesn't believe that the building codes may/will be revised in Australia and his consistent implication that we have the 'best' codes and processes is simply astounding.
How about we start a GoFundMe to send Troopy to Europe so he can 'evaluate' the building codes, products and processes utilized in the construction of the majority of single/multi storey buildings that are present throughout the continent. The same buildings which have had very few repairs/fixes and have lasted longer than Australia has been a country and definitely longer than he has been alive.
