Lot of different ways to go about doing business through a public company, and loading through equity is one end member, traditional, but only one end member
One (not the only one!) of the fundamental problems with the Junior sector gold market, is that there is a total disconnect between making money by trading gold using paper, versus physical gold trading, where you pay on supply of the physical gold. The problem runs down through the public sector equity market, and gets exacerbated by some of the company performances, or lack there of.
Essentially the Junior Gold Sector market is broken as I have said in various posts, in Oz, Canada etc.
To me its simply not worth the effort of starting new companies in this sector. It is far easier and orders of magnitude more effective, to finance a private (and manage) Junior Gold Exploration and Mining company, than to go deal with the flotsham associated with the public sector markets. You at least save $500 k pa in admin fees which do not go into the ground for a start.
AMX a prime example of a range of the problems with Junior Sector public companies.
Financing AMX? There are a lot of ways to do this, and raising money through offering equity is one of the options and one of the dumbest in my opinion. Going through western financial structures of traditional debt offerings, is not a lot smarter. But there are a lot of other ways, and far more convincing ways.
Financing AMX? It really depends on the attractiveness of the project as an investment, versus the risks. At $1300 per ounce gold?...as I have said numerous times, look at the PFS when AMX produce it. Trying to guess whether they make money at $1300 versus $1600 is just mindless speculation in my view, however one could safely assume they would make more money at $1600 per ounce than $1300.
Hounde at all in sustaining cost of $775 per ounce is a good number, if they can do it.
Good luck to them , and cant wait to see the PFS. What they do from there is also very interesting, but they need to get their cost and mngt structure more appropriate/in suiting to the times they live in and their strategy of coping with the present climate and commuicate this clearly to their shareholders (to state the obvious)
