Firstly, there was only 7,002,468 or 0.23% shares traded today, the lowest volume since 24th Dec. (6.4m 0.21%). So it was a relatively low volume day.
Secondly, as far as shorts sold, there was ~2.9m or 0.09% on Mon. 12th, (highest since 4th Dec with ~3.4m or 0.11%) 790k or 0.02% on Tue 13th and ~1m on Wed 14th. There is no data for the short positions on these days as yet, but in the period 29th Dec to 9th Jan., ASIC data shows an average of 2.63% or ~81.3m were being shorted.
Thirdly, Iron Ore futures on the DCE were up today, could be good for the SP tomorrow.
