New gold mine to open in January
Local officials say they are excited about the prospects of Angel Mining beginning operations next month

Angel Goldmine in the town of Nanortalik in extreme southern Greenland will begin operation in January.
The company is currently recruiting employees from the area and the first ten are expected to begin working next month.
Ole Mlgaard, a representative from the Kujalleq Local Council, expressed his satisfaction that the UK-based Angel Mining had chosen to hire local residents.
Weve held a lot of job training courses relating to the mining industry over the past year, and now we can see it paying off, Mlgaard said.
The hires, according to Kalistat Lund, of the councils Commerce Committee, were a part of Angels desire to work as closely as possible with local companies.
We wish the company all the best so it can generate growth in the area. Its a major boost for the area that Angel Mining is beginning operations, Lund said.
