Yes, they said they are still working optimising the new website for iphone and ipads, etc. so hopefully that will improve in a week or so. I was a bit unhappy about the hc banner now being pinned, but I suppose that is their prime advertising space and important for their add revenue. So to get more vertical space in my browser I did the following adjustments...
To optimize the Firefox 29.0.1 screen for HC, first goto the Firefox "View" menu and uncheck the "Bookmark Toolbar" and "Main Bar" under "Toolbars". (To get the menu bar back at any time, just right click the browser's top frame, past the tabs, and check "Menu Bar".) Then click on the "Show your Bookmarks" tool icon at the top right of the browser's address bar, and check "View Bookmarks Sidebar". This will give you all the links in the "Bookmarks Toolbar" and more. Its also easy to remove and bring back the bookmark sidebar if more screen space is needed. If anything does not fit, use the zoom buttons via the "Open Menu" tool icon at the top right of the browser's address bar.
Then on HC click 'X' above "Fighting Fund" to hide the hc left sidebar. This is easy to bring back with the '>' tab. I find the sidebar scrolls off anyway when you scroll down, so the hc forums can be more easily accessed by mousing over "Forums" on the HC main menu above the Commsec stock ticker. The attached screenshot shows the screen layout you will get.
