"The Govt established a task force to prioritize the execution of the MDA. The Govt has indicated that it "expects" the agreement will be finalized by end of May. Globe remains hopeful that this timeline will be met".

I can not locate it however I am sure most here saw the article of high Govt official stating GBE will receive their MDA in June. Whilst management and all stakeholders were "hopeful" for end of May - June it is.

Although no effect on GBE electricity supply it is great to see the very large hydro power generation facility that is off line due to flood damage has now received large international funding to repair and be operational again in 3-6 months. So many power projects arriving throughout Malawi from Hydro - wind - solar and inter connectors with Mozambique and Tanzania along with new logistics rail and transport improvements and more companies - all at a perfect time for Kanyika and other large scale mining operations but also to lower transport costs and product costs for local Malawians.

Chakwera like many places/country leaders is operating in tough environment however doing quiet a remarkable job under the circumstances. The peaceful nation of Malawi has for most part always been recognized as such and he is doing a great job to maintain that throughout covid and now the difficulties impacting from Russia/Ukraine - higher oil prices being passed on to higher consumer prices globally is a huge issue but more so for un developed nations. Amongst all the difficulties he and his Govt are working diligently to continue progress in Malawi (always a few bad eggs but they are clearly on notice now and his efforts to rid corruption will take a long time but already sees results). Of course he has his critics but when an opposition leader in a front page article states he will support Chakwera with his plans - well it speaks volumes. Well done to he and all Malawians.
Great to see another headline where positivity shines in which another headline article stated Malawi can turn the Russia/Ukraine situation to their advantage with new opportunities. There must be vast areas amenable to wheat and barley agriculture similar to the maize that is a very large agriculture industry for Malawi. Tobacco is on the nose - literally and adapting to new crops would be amazing for Malawi and the severe supply needs to so many countries.
