I'm sure the FZO product is decent but to me its just sticking a bunch of already existing technologies together. As others have said the hardware box the "Filters" content can be done by anyone who is a bit tech savvy. For example i block a bunch of ad servers before they even get to the computers on my network, the list automatically updates weekly and it took me about an hour setup. Its been running for 6 months without me touching it now.

As many experts are saying blocking doesnt really work anyway, the kids will find a way around it or get the content elsewhere (ie a friends phone, computer, tablet, library the list goes on and on).

By monitoring, the kids dont feel closed off from the rest of the world and it gives them trust. Meanwhile you still know if anything is happening and cant steps to mitigate it.

Personally i think we say "no" to our kids enough so being able to communicate openly with them is a bug step in the right direction.
