    If BHP truly values Mt Arthur as a $200M liability then they would logically be willing to pay someone $200M to take it off their books.

    With respect to the royalty rehab rumour, that sounds interesting. Does not seem logical at all as different mines have different strip ratios, different mines have different rehab conditions etc. I guess, if this system was enforced then some or a lot of the rehab bond would be returned to miners in Lieu of the new system. I'm not sure how the system could be applied to an operating open cut mine either. Sounds pretty similar to the rehab bond currently in place.
