Just to add a bit more into the mix. BHP is selling its South Walker and Poitrel mines in the Bowen Basin. Both are a good fit for NHC and allow a foot into Australias premier coal basin... and they're both met coal.
FWIW BHP can only be selling these because they have a higher margin product in their other mines while at the same time needing to have consistent operating procedures in all mines. Both of the mines up for sale require less bureaucratic techniques to mine the coal and they can't compete with other operators who take a far more pragmatic approach to mining coal. Resultantly, either WHC or NHC would be able to value add to these mines where BHP can't.
