New Housing Estates

Is it just me, or do new housing estates look trashy? I was driving through a couple today and I really didnt like what I saw, the house's looked too big against the tiny blocks they sit on. absolutly zero garden, just house's stacked side by side.

Cars littering the streets as no one has a front yard to park their cars on!!

Is it just me? or did housing estates of past have more character.. with gardens and yards..

I guess while we are in a property bubble and land is so over priced, people just get the smallest block they need to wack their house on?
