They weren't. When your "innovators" spend millions developing a new CRM, which is many years behind schedule, and millions over budget, they are not "innovators".
The tech side of CLH appears to have been gutted and replaced with all new talent - hopefully talent that is willing to get the job done.
Management is already bringing in new fresh blood that knows how things are done overseas. I see that as a great sign that techniques that work in larger markets (USA) will be applied to the AU market. That new data scientist for example, he is from Encore ECPG:US and Capital One. Spent any time in the states and you'll know they understand data modeling better than any company in AU could hope to, purely based on volume of data available.

Encore purchased a CLH competitor Baycorp last year, if you read recent reports (see minor shareholder OCP recent annual) they are having trouble applying the modeling to AU market.
