Kim Eng Securities is the top-performing research firm in Singapore and Malaysia, according to StarMine; Hiang Hong Seah of Kim Eng Securities ranks number three among the best stock pickers in those countries for last year. Formerly the head of research at Kim Eng in Singapore, Seah now manages funds for the company as their vice president of investments.

Hiang Hong Seah was also the top stock picker in the financials sector. His full-year "buy" recommendation on Oversea-Chinese Banking saw a price gain of 35%. Seah has been downbeat on the banking sector, because he thinks that a slowing economy and lackluster loan growth will hurt the earnings of this group. He cites fuel prices as a factor behind his less-than-optimistic outlook for the transportation and automobiles sectors. For now, Seah is not recommending any stocks.
