Apple A16 Bionic is built upon the new 4nm architecture, with the smaller process node allowing Apple to cram in additional transistors: 16 billion in total. Apple has been trying to cram in more and more transistors in their processors.
Again it's all about numbers!
IMO, when Apple transitions to an Edge AI processor, it will have the same mindset...find one with the most efficient platform = SNN!, one with the most neurons and synapses = Akida!, and one that is easily scalable so that it could continue its money making scheme in releasing an "upgrade" every year = Akida by just adding more neurons and synapses or manipulate the synaptic functions.
Only Akida has 1.2 million neurons and 100 billion synapses that can easily match the 16 billion transistors Apple A16 Bionic currently has.
It also has been using ARM's silicon architecture so everything points in Brainchip's direction IMO!
Please do not take my always optimistic outlook as advice
