The IR laws may to be his advantage down the track but nothing has surfaced except more cost cutting. He would prefer (love) to work in his trade but made redundant 18 months ago due to his industry being swamped by new companies taking advantage of working visa employees with cheaper labour costs effectively catching older companies off guard and unable to win the contract on cost. Funny thing, in his last month in the trade his old company was asked to fix some work done by the cheaper company that won the contract. Quality seems to be off the agenda for now.
