The apostle Paul spoke of an Israel in the fleshly sense. (1Corinthians 10:18) . And regarding the fleshly Jerusalem in the middle east, he said at Hebrews 13:14 ; " for here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come" .Consistent with this, Revelation 21:2 speaks of a " new Jerusalem " coming down from heaven . In the same way there is also a spiritual israel, the "Israel of God" (Galations 6:16). These concepts relate to Christ's congregation, and have nothing to do with the republic of israel or even the geographic location over in the middle east. They are a prerequisite to understanding prophesy, such as the one at Ezekiel 38:18 , which speaks of Gog of Magog who will invade the "land of Israel"
