Its all a learning cycle, slippin.
Many years back it was Queensbury, now its not. People here regularly get glassed, head caved in with a stool, nose or ear bitten off....pretty serious stuff.
If you get into a blue, you have to take the consequences....or win at all costs, not an easy matter for an old fella....one who doesnt like the taste of ears.
Like I said, no Queensbury now, so you cant let the other guy up, or he'll do you something shocking. So you'd have to get in quick, and dont stop while he can still move. Yeah, you might finish up killing him....and then face the law...
So much easier to walk away.....if you can. Hey, even that doesnt work. Remember the young Navy guy in Perth, walking away with this guy just at him and at him, following him till he snapped, turned, punched....and had his life and career destroyed. One punch, and the guy died. Tragic, but the guy begged for it....You might say that punch took 2 lives. Poor bugger should have kept walking, hard as it would have been....
Think I read a while back that provocation is no longer a defence.....a bummer. Years back, the cops were on our side...if someone asked for it and got it, it was fine with them. Not now, society's gone crazy...
