Of course the reality is that only the Parliamentary Liberals could install a new PM without an election. Even that option is more difficult that with previous "coups" as Morrison got the rules changed when he became leader (as did Rudd on his second time around).
The really sad part of this dilemma is that even if the Libs could make a change, giving the new PM a few months honeymoon before an election, there is not one single current Liberal member of Parliament who IMO meets the minimum standard required. This is a genuine "B Team" government.
