Actually, I'll go one step further with my cynical hat on here and say that this feels like (in part) a propaganda campaign by CATL, no doubt bankrolled by the CCP (with fishy timing) because the Chinese don't have an abundance of (comparatively) cheap to extract lithium and have recently found that they are paying more and more for it.

For those that have been on this rollercoaster for long enough, we know the games of fear that are played by certain nefarious actors trying to inject uncertainty into what is obviously now a disruptive process. I am not saying don't look out for tech that could potentially disrupt the lithium battery, but also be careful of not doing the work of those people who would like to see the lithium market crash again to continue scooping up distressed assets.
