MK managed to get Kimberley Diamonds (KIM) up and running in the 1990's the background to that is interesting in itself... the details can be gleaned form a google search. Kimberley got taken over by Gem Diamonds in 2007 for 70c per share - $300m for the mine. At the time, from the HC posts, there was a belief the SP had been manipulated down to a low ball offer by GEM or related parties, and a lot of the smaller holders felt ripped off as the SP had been a bit higher than 70c earlier. Ellendale is up for sale again and it looks as if Gem didn't make as much a go of it as they were expecting.
