According to the article in the West Australian yesterday, The Chinese have officially acquired a share in GWR just over 11%, these Shares have full voting rights for the upcoming EGM. PMM no longer controls 19.9% of the company

Add The 11% to FAS's 23% and then add in the Directors shares and I think you'll find PMM's Backdoor assault on GWR is dead in the water.

GWR only need the support of about 15% of non alligned share holders to hold off PMM's opportunistic play for control of the GWR board.

PMM on the other hand now own around 18% of GWR, they'll need a whopping 33% of the unalligned to vote for them. I'd be suprised if they could muster even a small fraction of the numbers needed.

Good Riddance I say. If they want board control, let them announce a takeover bid and pay a premium like anyone else would have to.
