1. Capital savings reduced / avoided
2. Less fund raising / dilution
3. Less competition / some market control
4. Only one thread for fools to post rubbish on
5. What baggage? Court or arb will decide then all move on. If that is impacting an investment decsion then it might be a bit shallow.
There is a reason companies merge. Ask your mum about the companies from the 60's.
