When it comes to buying Mad In Australia, Aussie consumers simply wont pay the premium for normal mass manufactured goods.

For a meaningful "Made In Australia" campaign , we have to use our strengths, not our weaknesses and when it comes to manufacturing
economy of scale is everything. Just look at the demise of our manufacturing over the past 30 years.

Countries like Japan, Korea and now China geared up to produce for global markets except in the car of the latter, China has a base
    domestic population of 1.4 billion.

So , this is why we should focus our "Made In Australia" manufacturing campaign on industrial areas where we have global competitive advantage.
IMO, that is in steel-aluminium manufacturing where we have cheap minerals , coal & LNG.(we * now export these commodities to Japan, Korea & China who use them for that very purpose

*By saying "we" I mean majority foreign owned miners & LNG exporters.)
Made In Australia" should Australian owned so that its not here today & gone tomorrow
