However, with respect to the b/s point it is actually very relevant. Some large institutions, pay very specific attention to the b/s of the management company as they want to ensure they are protected in the event they need to sue. Whether that really holds up or not, is up for debate, but it is part of some institutions due diligence process, more so than others.

With respect to the $500, it will be interesting to find out who it is. I still think it is very odd that it was not announced in the press release. If it is a public pension that would be public record anyway eventually.
