I'm not sure why you think company's must/should release information all the time?

In fact, the company's that do release information all the time are often the ones that are trying to cover something up. I'd much rather that a company only reports material events when they arise, not continually release fluffy statement to try and appease the market when sentiment has turned a bit sour. They should be focusing on the business, not the share price IMHO.
